Lisvane Art Workshop

Exhibitions

The Annual Exhibition

Our main exhibition has traditionally been held in November, for many years in the Memorial Hall, Lisvane, and also for many years, on a Friday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is £2 including refreshments. However, our next Annual Exhibition will be held on Friday 7th December 2018 and Saturday 8th December 2018 at the times above.

It is always a very informal and friendly exhibition where visitors can stay as long as they wish, and chat about the paintings (and anything else!) over a glass of wine or a cuppa.

Visitors all have the chance to vote for the painting that they like the best, for whatever reason. The artist who painted the winning painting is awarded the Ted Martin Memorial Trophy, held for one year.

Please click for a review of the 2015 exhibition, the 2016 exhibition and the 2017 exhibition. Images of some of the paintings that were hanging in these exhibitions are found in the corresponding gallery, others have now been transferred to the appropriate Members’ Gallery.

The ‘Rolling’ Exhibition

Visitors to the Memorial Hall will be familiar with the paintings hung around the walls. All are for sale and are changed after three months, as far as possible. Please click here for more details and a gallery of paintings currently hanging.

The Festival Exhibition

As part of the Lisvane Festival celebrations, we also hold a small exhibition to coincide with the Lisvane Festival Fête. Please see our programme for dates of the next exhibition. An impartial judge (a different judge each year - and usually a professional artist) is invited to choose a winning painting for the Sir Julian Hodge Festival Cup. Please click here for more details.
